Been Gone So Long ..

Wow .. talk about a break .. almost three years and the site's still here. I finally got around to updating my web site and I think I'll stick with the basic design for a while. I think it looks good. I won't try to catch up for the last few years, but I'll get back her more often and throw some news up. These days everybody seems to go for Facebook .. sorry can't stand it. I prefer this mode, feels better! The biggest news is that Sara had a baby girl a year ago, so Jaedyn Isabel is now a year old on February. She's so fun! I'll have to put up a photo of her soon.

Mariposa Blues and Brews

Well, back at home after a great weekend up at Mariposa. Got to hear some great music and see some old friends. We went up Friday night and after getting settled in with the trailer at KOA, went to The Miner Inn for a pre-concert jam. Lonnie Shields, Stacy Brooks and David Coppa were there jammin' along with hosts Mike Hammar and the Nails. It was good to see my old friend Allan "B3Blues" Carroll again. Alan played with Lonnie Shields and Mike Hammar and The Nails. Deja Blues bass player and founder of The Central Valley Blues Society, Don Heflin played at the jam Friday and backing Ron Thompson for a smokin' set Saturday afternoon.
Although the weather was rainy, it broke for the festival on Saturday, and everybody there seem not to mind the wet. There were even some dancers for Elvin Bishop's show down front who were ankle deep in mud and havin' a great time! A highlight for me, was seeing A.C. Myles at the beer garden stage. A.C. always puts on a great show and is a rockin' guitar player. See the lineup in the photo above. I hope everyone continues to support these events and local musicians to keep our local music alive.

Going to Mariposa!

Hey, how ya all doing? Well this weekend, Catherine and I are going to the first annual Mariposa blues fest. Here's the link: Mariposa Blues and Brews. Should be great fun and we'll be seeing our old friends Allen and Nancy Carrol. Allen "b3 blues", plays ...yup... Hammond b3, with Mike Hammar and the Nails, out of Merced. We're bringing the trailer and staying at the KOA. Looking forward to it! Maybe we'll se ya out there. James

Groveland 4/24

First post ... just to check things out and get rolling! DJ Slate and Rocket 88 just played last night in Groveland. Got home around 4:00am. Whewww... fun tho...band was rockin'. See ya soon.
